The Chatham Hall Chamber Choir sang the National Anthem at a NCAA basketball game.
On March 4, the Chatham Hall Chamber Choir took to a televised stage with a performance of the National Anthem at the Georgetown vs. Villanova men’s college basketball game. The 11 singers took to the court just before tip-off at the Verizon Center in downtown Washington, D. C. to deliver a stirring rendition of the anthem. Conducted by Director of Music, David Grimes, the girls brought a patriotic air to the showdown between the two basketball powerhouses through their beautiful performance of the complex arrangement. “The girls were well complemented, and Chatham Hall was very well represented,” said Grimes of the performance. The Chamber Choir is a selective assembly of members of the St. Mary’s Choir, and includes members of the historied Sextet a cappella group.
