Riding Program Welcomes USHJA for Instructor Clinic

Chatham Hall served as the latest location for the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) Instructor Credential in-person workshop on April 22 & 23.
According to its website, the USHJA Instructor Credential was “developed to offer a comprehensive educational program for riding instructors.” The program includes both online education and an in-person workshop and examination.

USHJA staff and 11 riding instructors seeking the credential visited campus for the two-day clinic during which they participated in classroom learning and worked with Chatham Hall students in the ring. The clinic also brought several familiar faces back to campus, including former Chatham Hall Director of Riding James Morris as one of the session leaders and examiners and Savannah Anderson ‘11 as a participant.

The clinic was supported by the entire Riding Program, including instructors, staff, and 24 students.

“The clinic was a total success! All of the participants and the USHJA staff had nothing but great things to say about our facility, our horses, and particularly our students,” noted Director of Riding Ally Doyon. “We hope this is just the first of many USHJA programs that Chatham Hall will be a part of.”
