Smith Named Head Varsity Basketball Coach

Kiara Smith had been named the new head Varsity Basketball coach at Chatham Hall.
Smith comes to the School from George Washington High School and Patrick & Henry Community College where she served as an assistant coach.

“We are excited to have Kiara join the Chatham Hall family,” said Director of Athletics Jeremy Eubank. “She brings a wealth of experience, both as an athlete and as a coach, and we look forward to her leading the next generation of Turtles!”

Smith played at Averett University from 2016-2020 where she majored in sports medicine. In 2019, Smith was part of the team that won the Conference USA South Championship. At George Washington High School, Smith was named MVP of the 2015 Danville Register & Bee Shootout.

“I am excited to get started. I have felt welcomed by staff and students. I want to thank Coach Eubank and Chatham Hall for the opportunity to be the new head varsity basketball coach,” Smith stated.

In her first season, Smith will look at incorporating the “3 F’s” into her training: family, fundamentals, and fun.

“The overall goals for my athletes and I are to put in the work, aim to win, and have fun while we’re doing it.”
