Edwards '23 Accepted to Barnard Young Women's Leadership Institute

Madison Edwards ‘23 has been accepted to the Barnard College Young Women’s Leadership Institute for summer 2022.
The Institute, to take place in July at the school’s Manhattan campus, embraces the complex relationship between gender and leadership and allows participants to explore leadership through a feminist lens.

“It’s going to be a great opportunity for me to be in a group of very bright young women, studying something that is very important to all of us,” said Edwards.

Students in the Young Women’s Leadership Institute are able to study in one of seven tracks. Edwards is planning on going into the Political Science and Economics Track that explores the role gender plays in shaping social and economic policy, and the ways in which the economy shapes politics and the government. Specifically, Edwards is passionate about the Activist NYC course, which looks at the history of efforts to change policing and criminal justice in the city.
