Horn '22 Commits to Ride at Lynchburg

Zoey Horn ‘22 has committed to ride as part of the University of Lynchburg’s equestrian program. Lynchburg riders compete in both the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) and the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA), and Horn expects to first compete within IHSA.
“I have been really well prepared by the Chatham Hall program,” said Horn. “My confidence and personal riding skills have greatly increased by our program’s requirement that we ride different horses each day. When I go home over the summer, my friends really see the difference it makes and tell me they wish they could ride at Chatham Hall. Miss Frankie and Miss Emma have also been so supportive of me, and they know the Lynchburg program, so I felt like that was another great connection.”

Horn’s arrival on the University of Lynchburg campus in 2022 will also coincide with renovations to the barn and outdoor arena there, and she will be able to bring her personal horse, Copper, with her both for lessons and outside competitions. Copper has been an important part of Horn’s life for years, even inspiring her entrepreneurial spark with CoppersCookieCo. She hopes to continue her business while in college, much as she has been able to at Chatham Hall.

“I am so proud of how hard Zoey has worked over her four years at Chatham Hall. Her dedication and commitment to personal growth and improving the team will be missed next year, but we cannot wait to see all that she will accomplish at Lynchburg and beyond,” said Frankie Beyer, interim director of the Chatham Hall Riding Program.
