About Us

Belonging at Chatham Hall

At Chatham Hall, inclusion and belonging are more than ideals; they are essential to who we are.

We are a community that not only respects each other’s differences but actively seeks the value, beauty, and even magic within them. We welcome a rich diversity of cultures, languages, backgrounds, beliefs, and perspectives to reflect the world beyond our campus and to cultivate empathy, curiosity, and respect for the human experience. In Fall 2024, our faculty, staff, and administrators came together to articulate shared community standards grounded in honesty, responsibility, and integrity. These standards affirm our commitment to open dialogue, civil discourse, and ensuring every student feels safe, heard, and valued. By listening to understand, engaging with empathy, and honoring all voices, we strive to model the thoughtful, respectful, and inclusive community our students will carry with them into the world.

Our DEI theme for the 2025-2026 school year is:
"Belonging as a Lifelong Human Need — Building Connection, Understanding, and Inclusion at Chatham Hall."
It weaves together personal reflection, research on empathy and connection, and Chatham Hall’s commitment to fostering an environment where every individual is seen, heard, and valued. The emphasis is on belonging as foundational, with the school year framed as an opportunity to deepen bonds, encourage civil discourse, and create inclusive spaces for authentic voice and wellness.
