Service Group Improves Campus Over Spring Break

Chatham Hall
During the first week of Spring Break, five students remained on campus to do service work.
Led by Rachel Hightman ’18, the group began the week by clearing and improving the trails running through the woods around campus as part of Hightman’s Girl Scout Gold Award project. In addition to the students, faculty members Abraham Tidwell and Ryan Bradley also made significant contributions to the project by helping to clear large tree limbs that had fallen across the trail.

In addition to the trail work, students worked on two quilting projects for the upcoming Reunion auction, the proceeds of which will benefit Chatham Hall's Legacy Scholarship Fund. When a surprise snowstorm seemingly disrupted the group’s planned service activities, the service group made their way into Lee Library to help reshelve books and organize the library, creating space for more books and to better suit the needs of the student body.
