Winter 2026 Athletic Update

Postseason Momentum and Championship Moments

Winter athletics at Chatham Hall continued to build momentum from the main season to postseason play. From a strong BRAC Conference finish in swimming and basketball to hosting a state tournament game on our home court, our student-athletes are competing with focus, resilience, and pride. As the season progresses, we celebrate not only titles and tournament appearances but also the teamwork and school spirit that define Chatham Hall athletics.

Swim
On February 6, our swimmers competed at the BRAC Swim Championship with determination and true Turtle spirit. Congratulations to Yvelisse C. ’28, who captured the BRAC Conference Championship title in the 50 freestyle, an achievement that reflects both individual excellence and disciplined preparation. Just as impressive was the team’s unity throughout the meet, cheering from the deck, celebrating personal bests, and embodying what it means to pursue excellence together.

Varsity Basketball
Chatham Hall finished strong in BRAC play, landing third in the conference and earning the No. 8 seed in the VISAA State Tournament and hosting Seton School in the opening round. In a historic milestone for the program, the Turtles secured a 61–52 victory on their home court, advancing to the second round of state competition for the first time in school history.

The team traveled to Ashburn the following day to face top-seeded Virginia Academy. Though the Turtles ultimately fell 76–33, their grit, growth, and composure on the state stage reflected a season defined by steady progress and competitive determination. Hosting postseason play and advancing in the tournament mark significant achievements for the program and speak to the team’s hard work all season long. Final Bracket Standing
