Decoration Weekend Puts Chatham Hall in the Holiday Spirit

Following in the annual tradition, each class brought holiday cheer to a different part of campus, with Freshmen making wreaths, Sophomores decorating St. Mary’s Chapel, and Juniors turning Yardley dining hall into the classic holiday story, The Polar Express. The Class of 2020 capped off Saturday’s festivities with a hilarious medley of skits for Senior Night in the Well and the school sang Christmas Carols together.

Sunday night was the Service of Lessons and Carols, featuring scripture readings by students and faculty, as well as alumnae Kathryn Waters ’14 and Mary Kathryn Atkinson ’10. The community shared a festive seated dinner after the service, which included a surprise celebration. In honor of his upcoming 90th birthday, Mr. John Henry Waller–along with his family–joined Rector Connell for dinner and the school community sang an extra enthusiastic “Happy Birthday” as the cake was served.
