For Anaiah C. ’26, the past year has been full of opportunities to explore her passion for medicine—both in the classroom and beyond. This summer, Anaiah took that passion even further through a prestigious research experience with the Howard University and Johns Hopkins University collaborative program.
Her work focused on breast cancer diagnosis, and last week she traveled to Johns Hopkins University to present her findings. The program allowed Anaiah to engage in hands-on medical research while working alongside faculty and students committed to advancing healthcare.
This isn’t the first time Anaiah has combined her academic curiosity with meaningful action. Earlier this year, she organized a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, leading the Heart to Heart campaign to raise awareness and support for children battling catastrophic illnesses. “I learned that you don’t need a background in medicine or pediatrics to lead a cause that can change someone’s life,” she reflected after the campaign.
Her commitment to research and advocacy is a natural extension of her Chatham Hall experience, where she has found both inspiration and encouragement to pursue her interests at a deeper level. From launching a community fundraiser to contributing to medical research at one of the nation’s top universities, Anaiah is already making an impact. And with her curiosity, drive, and compassion, her journey is only just beginning.
