Remembering La: A Legacy of Love and Laughter

Celebrating La's birthday
On September 3, we paused to celebrate the birthday of someone who will forever hold a special place in the heart of Chatham Hall, Cathy LaDuke, lovingly known as La. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit continues to shape our community through the countless lives she touched, the traditions she helped build, and the warmth she shared so generously.

This year, the outpouring of love and remembrance was truly remarkable. Alumnae, parents, students, and colleagues filled social media with stories that brought her legacy to life once again. Whether it was a quiet moment at brunch, a spontaneous trip to Bojangles, or a meaningful Chapel tradition, La’s presence is still deeply felt.

Her dedication lives on, not only in memory, but in the very foundation of the Wagoner-LaDuke Center for Athletics, Health and Wellness. In this space, care, connection, and well-being are celebrated daily, just as she would have wanted.
