Capturing a Year Worth Remembering

The Chathamite 2026

As copies of The Chathamite were distributed across campus, Grace O. ’26 and Avery H. ’26, this year’s editors reflected not only on the work that went into creating the publication but also on the memories, traditions, and people who shaped the year behind its pages.

Before distribution began, the editors announced that next year’s editor will be Becky Y. ’27. Throughout the year, Becky consistently volunteered to take on extra pages, contributed creative ideas, and brought thoughtful artistic touches to each section she designed. Her dedication, creativity, and collaborative spirit have already left a meaningful mark on The Chathamite, and the staff is excited to see how she will lead the publication next year.

This year’s edition was deeply inspired by the history of The Chathamite itself. Editors Avery and Grace spent hours reading through decades of past editions and quickly became captivated by the way those yearbooks preserved the feeling of a moment in time. That sense of nostalgia and storytelling shaped their vision for the 2026 edition.

The team approached this year’s publication as a true time capsule, something students could revisit years from now and instantly reconnect with the emotions, friendships, traditions, and experiences that defined this chapter of their lives. Inspired by earlier editions, the editors also expanded coverage of the seniors with dedicated pages that feel both personal and celebratory. Alongside longtime favorite sections, these additions aimed to honor the unique stories and personalities of the Class of 2026.

Perhaps the most meaningful moment of the distribution came with this year’s dedication. The senior class chose to honor someone whose work often happens quietly behind the scenes, yet whose impact is felt by every member of the community: Mrs. Cierra Hubbard.

Whether helping students locate lost keycards, managing deliveries at the front desk, coordinating safety and security efforts, or simply being a reliable source of support for students and faculty alike, Mrs. Hubbard’s steady presence has become an essential part of daily life at Chatham Hall. The dedication served as a heartfelt acknowledgment of the countless ways she supports the community with care, consistency, and compassion.

As students flipped through the pages of this year’s edition, The Chathamite accomplished exactly what its editors had hoped: preserving not only events and photographs, but the feeling of this year itself, a little nostalgic, deeply meaningful, and full of moments worth remembering.
