Step by Step, Heart to Heart

The Heart to Heart Club reminded us that even the smallest steps can lead to meaningful change.

Led by Ana G.C. ’26, our community came together for a walking challenge in support of women’s health around the world. Students and faculty alike committed to moving with purpose, tracking their steps throughout the week with a shared goal of reaching 100,000 steps by Sunday.

Ana grounded the challenge in something both powerful and deeply relevant:
“Cardiovascular diseases are the leading illnesses in women, and even with modern medicine, awareness of the challenges that many women face is of great importance. Walking is said to be a great way to preserve cardiovascular health.”

With that spirit, the Chatham Hall community stepped forward together, each stride a reflection of care, awareness, and collective impact.

Midweek, the momentum carried into a visible show of support. Inspired by the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign, students and faculty wore red and pink, gathering in the Well for a community photo before lunch. It was a moment of unity, one that honored women across the globe and underscored the importance of awareness, advocacy, and action.

At Chatham Hall, leadership often begins in moments like these. A student sees a need, raises her voice, and invites others to join. What follows is not just participation, but purpose.

As we look ahead, we remain hopeful for continued advancements in women’s health, for greater access and inclusivity in care, and for a world where awareness leads to action.
And, as Ana reminded us, this is just the beginning.
