A Season for the History Books

For the first time in school history, Chatham Hall basketball has earned a place in the rankings VISAA Girls Basketball State Polls, ranking 8th in Division II. This milestone marks a defining moment for our athletics program and reflects the extraordinary commitment, perseverance, and belief shown by our student-athletes and coaching staff throughout the season.

Until now, the highest number of wins recorded by a Chatham Hall basketball team was five, achieved during the 2022–2023 season. This year’s team has already surpassed that record, and with each game still to be played, they stand on the brink of setting a new program best. Every win has been hard-earned, built on hours of practice, teamwork, and a shared determination to raise the bar.

Being ranked is more than a statistic. It is recognition that Chatham Hall basketball has arrived on a larger competitive stage. It signals respect from across the league and affirms the steady growth of a program that has been building momentum year after year, as these are voted on by coaches in the division. For our players, it is validation of their effort. For the school community, it is a moment of pride and celebration.

This season also brings another historic first. When postseason play begins, Chatham Hall basketball will advance to the state tournament for the very first time. That achievement alone represents a breakthrough, opening the door to new opportunities and setting a powerful precedent for future teams.

What makes this season especially meaningful is not just the wins or the rankings, but the culture behind them. This team has shown resilience in challenging moments, leadership on and off the court, and an unwavering commitment to one another. They have inspired classmates, energized fans, and demonstrated what is possible when preparation meets confidence.

Chatham Hall basketball is making history, but even more importantly, it is building a legacy. This season will be remembered as the moment when belief turned into achievement and when a new chapter began for athletics in the Wagoner-LaDuke Center for Athletics, Health and Wellness.
