Family Day Welcomes Loved Ones to Campus

Families from across the world traveled to Chatham Hall on Oct. 1 to participate in the School’s annual Family Day program.
In addition to going to classes with their students, family members were also able to attend a Chapel service, enjoy lunch with their student’s grade-level peers, and observe dance class, play rehearsal, or purple and gold athletic scrimmages.

“It was wonderful to have so many of our Chatham Hall family members on campus,” said Rector Rachel Connell. “The joy our students show in introducing loved ones to their Chatham Hall home is almost unrivaled.”

While Dean of College Counseling Erin McHugh kept her door open for senior family drop ins, an afternoon parent enrichment program offered families a chance to learn more about supporting our students with School Counselor Phyllis Hollimon, Chatham Hall Athletics with Director of Athletics Jeremy Eubank, the history of the School with Historian and Archivist Dr. Bill Black, or tour the grounds with student leaders. Senior varsity athletes were recognized on the field hockey, tennis, cross country, and volleyball teams and families were invited to a Purple & Gold Cookout complete with music by local band No Charge.

“There is nothing better than having our Chatham Hall family together,” said Connell. “It truly is a great day to be a Turtle!”
