Girls Make it Happen features many different activities for campers ages 10-16. Both day and residential options are available

July 28-August 2, 2019

A one-week session for girls aged 12-16 focused in leadership development, critical thinking, and experiential learning in everyday practical tasks. This program encourages girls to take risks, accept challenges, and work both independently and within teams to create strategies and solutions for solving problems.

Hands-on courses will include activities like “budget shopping,” being given a budget, learning to grocery shop and choose items, and then cooking a meal with conversations on financial literacy and nutrition being covered during the process. Girls could also learn basic coding, safe internet and social media practices, and an introduction to different technologies. The possibilities for topics are endless and we look forward to taking the challenges and curiosities brought forward by campers and helping them learn how to work through an idea, research, and then solve a problem independently and with the support of faculty and peers.

Sessions will be taught by current Chatham Hall faculty, professionals in working with adolescent girls and incorporating the teaching of these transferable skills in their classrooms and in the residential hallways daily.
