IEA Team Performs Well in Holiday Shows

Chatham Hall
The riding team performed well two competitions before Christmas break, with outstanding performances from all competing riders.
On December 9th the team traveled to Natural Bridge for a snowy yet successful show. The team was excited to finish second overall, with Chandler Runnells '19 winning the open fences class and Isabella Hubbard '19 winning both flat and fences. Additionally, Gwen Werth '21 had a strong day, with a third in Novice Fences. Coach James Morris was proud of the team’s performance, saying “Despite the cold weather the girls did a great job rallying as a team and supporting each other throughout the long day of competition.”

The team then traveled to Raleigh NC, on December 16th. Highlights from the show included Maddi Grossman '19 earning a third in Intermediate fences, and Emma Jones '19 and Gwen Werth '21 earning fourth and fifth, respectively, in Novice Fences. Jones also received a much deserved second in novice flat to finish out the day. The team has one more regular season IEA show at home on January 27th before moving into postseason competition on March 3rd and 4th.
