Big Wins in Smithfield for IEA Team

Chatham Hall
On September 23rd and 24th, eight members of the IEA team traveled to Smithfield, NC for a doubleheader horse show with Oak Hill on Saturday and Hillcrest on Sunday.
The weather was beautiful, and the girls demonstrated great teamwork during the long weekend away! The team had good rides on Saturday, with some notable finishes including Isabella Hubbard's win in the novice flat, and Caroline Hawthorne's win in the Intermediate Flat. Additionally, Athena Critides received a second in her first Novice fences class with Chatham Hall.

Highlights from Sunday included Hailey Johnson receiving a well-deserved second in her Intermediate jumping round. Also, Hubbard received a second in her Novice fences and a first on the flat, making her the first Chatham Hall rider to qualify for Regional Finals this year. Lily Porter and Athena Critides also received seconds in their respective flat classes, Open and Novice. The team finished up the day Sunday with great rides in the Walk Trot Canter division, where Ellie Johnson finished second and Lauren Lamothe sixth. The team finished up third both days. The IEA team will be on the road again October 7th, traveling to Durham, NC for a show at Triton Stables.
