Strong Start for IEA Team in Early Competition

Chatham Hall
On Sunday, the IEA team traveled to its first horse show of the season at Pleasant Hill Farm in Hillsborough, NC.
Four students traveled to the show–Shannon Huth who competed in Open flat and fences, Caroline Hawthorne in the Intermediate division, Isabella Hubbard in the Novice division, and Susie Wu who competed in Walk/Trot/Canter. This early season show saw some strong rides from the competitors, and the team ended up third overall. Some highlights from the day were Caroline Hawthorne getting a second in her first intermediate fences class, as well as Isabella Hubbard, who moved up to the novice division after going to Nationals in the Walk/Trot/Canter division last year. She had a beautiful jumping round, and won her flat class. The team is concentrating on getting ready for the next two horse shows which are September 23 and 24 in Smithfield NC. As always follow us on twitter (@RideChathamHall) for updates on the team, and the riding program as a whole!
