Class of 2017 Celebrates College Acceptances

While it’s been cold on campus, the past week heated up for the seniors with the announcement that every member of the class of 2017 has been accepted to a college! More acceptances will be coming in over the next few weeks, but, with the good news of full acceptances, the seniors can breath a collective sigh of relief. To date, the 22 member class has received 50 acceptances, including 4 early decision acceptances from St. Lawrence University, Carnegie Mellon University, Bucknell University, and Washington & Lee University.

The philosophy of the Chatham Hall College Counseling Office focuses on options and fit. Director of College Counseling, Sharon Williams, believes the breadth and diversity of this year’s list reflects an intention to look beyond the familiar, and to consider schools of various sizes, types, and locations. "As in past years, this year has been a great testament to the breadth, depth, and curiosity that is a hallmark of the Chatham Hall experience. This class has been great about looking beyond names and searching for the school that fits who they are and has the resources to help them become who they wish to be," said Williams. The college list for the class of 2017 includes 86 universities, 27 colleges, and 7 institutes of technology, and range in size from 972 (Simmons College) to 64,962 (University of Toronto).
