IEA Team Earns Reserve Champion at Final Home Show

On Jan. 22, the Riding Program hosted their final home show of the season with the IEA team finishing as Reserve Champions out of seven competing teams!
To start off the day, Carolyn Whatley '23 placed second and Emerson Clement '25 finished fifth in a competitive Novice Flat class. Over Fences, Whatley took home third, which qualified her for Regional Finals both on the Flat and Fences.

In the Intermediate Division, Zoey Horn '22 won first on the Flat, Vance Luster '23 placed second, and Piper Vogel '22 placed fourth. Over Fences, Horn earned second while Eve Dunnagan '23 was third.

To wrap up the day in the Open Division, Annabele Whitehead '22 won a third place ribbon with Kensington Nelson '22 close behind in fourth place. Over Fences, Nelson put in a strong and consistent trip that resulted in a first place win.

At the end of competition, the team took a moment to celebrate their four seniors, Horn, Nelson, Vogel, and Whitehead, at the final home regular season show of their Chatham Hall careers. They will all be missed!

The IEA team will host Regional Finals on Feb. 12. The team that finishes as champion will move on to Zone Finals. In addition to the team competition, individuals will have a chance to move on, including six Chatham Hall riders that have qualified so far. Good luck, riders!
