IEA Team Claims Back-to-Back Victories

On Nov. 6 & 7, the Chatham Hall IEA team traveled to Randleman, NC to compete in a double header show at Townley Equestrian Center.
Kensington Nelson ‘22 started the team off with two wins in Open Fences and Open Flat. She was followed by Caroline David ‘23, who was competing in her first IEA show, and had a strong showing in Open, earned a fourth place finish in Over Fences, and fifth place on the Flat.

In the Intermediate division, Piper Vogel ‘22 kept the winning streak with first place in Over Fences, and went on to take second place on the Flat. Zoey Horn ‘22 earned third place on the Flat, while Taylor Xu ‘23 put in two strong rides in her debut show. 
 
Carolyn Whatley ‘23 won in a large and competitive Novice Fences class, with Emerson Clement ‘25 claiming sixth in her first show. Elle Reeves ‘25 earned third place on the Flat, with Whatley taking second. In the Walk Trot Canter division, Maddie McCoy ‘24 placed second just ahead of Sophie Croker Poole ‘23 who was third. With such strong results, the team was named Champion over six teams for the first competition!
 
On Sunday, the team headed back out and started off strong with David earning two seconds in the Open division, while Nelson placed fourth Over Fences and third on the Flat.

In Intermediate Fences, Vogel earned second, Horn third, and Xu sixth place. On the Flat, Horn took home the win out of 11 riders, with Vogel coming in fifth. After a strong morning, Novice Fences ended up with two thirds for Clement and Reeves. Additionally, Reeves claimed the win in the Novice Flat class. To round out the day, Croker Poole earned a win, while McCoy placed fifth.

For the second consecutive day, the IEA team finished with another championship ribbon!

The IEA team will compete next at Meadowbrook Stables in Maryland on Nov. 13.
