Egg Hunt Benefits Local Charities

“The Egg Hunt was not only a fun way to spend Easter, but it also benefited lots of different charities,” said Maddie McCoy ‘24. “If you found a golden egg you got to decide which nonprofit organization would receive it. I think that this was a great idea as we raised money for different charities while having fun.”

"I love the whole idea," agreed Caroline Keating '24. "I love that the whole campus is gathering together and giving money to the local charities."

 

Charities to which donations could be designated included Chatham First; Chatham Rescue Squad; God’s Storehouse; Happy Tails Rescue; Haven of the Dan River; Olde Dominion Agricultural Foundation; Mercy Partners; Pittsylvania County Community Action; Pittsylvania County Literacy Program; Pittsylvania Pet Center; and the SPCA.  

 

“I wanted to be involved with the Egg Hunt because every year at Easter my family does something similar and it's always so much fun and very competitive,” noted McCoy. “I thought it was a great idea to have one on campus since we would not be at home for Easter, so that just meant we had the fun here!”
