Class of 1946 Reunites Via Zoom

With the COVID-19 pandemic changing much of daily life, the Office of Advancement has become creative with bringing alumnae together. With last spring’s reunions celebrations cancelled, many classes have been meeting via Zoom instead.
“We were devastated that we were forced to reschedule the reunion celebrations, as we worked so hard on the details to make sure everyone would have a great time,” said Director of Alumnae and Parent Relations Christine Gilmore.

“We knew that Zoom gatherings would never take the place of in-person gatherings, but it was the best we could offer for now. And then the magic happened - for the amazing women of the Class of 1946, it was a chance to see each other that some had not had in 74 years!”

Distinguished Alumna Award winner Dr. Lanie Hill and Class Agent Eleanor Earle were particularly instrumental in bringing together the alumnae of ’46. The Zoom provided an intimate setting for many who might otherwise not have been able to travel.

“This zoom session will live with me for life,” said Gilmore. “We heard about life stories, dreams, lessons learned, and the challenges and triumphs of life after Chatham Hall.  More importantly, it made clear the beauty of the powerful, authentic, and lasting bonds of friendship formed  by experiencing life at Chatham Hall together. Esto Perpetua!”
