Faculty Participate in Hybrid Learning Class Through One Schoolhouse

In preparation for the new school year and shifting educational landscape, Chatham Hall faculty spent the summer training through a new partnership with One Schoolhouse via the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools (NCGS).
“We’re hoping to translate what we do so well in the classroom as closely as possible to an online environment when we need to use one,” said Dean of Academics Martha Griswold. “Our entire faculty has been tirelessly planning and shifting, all while trying to maintain the bonds of our School community.”

Teaching faculty participated in the “Designing, Building, & Teaching for Hybrid Learning” online course where they learned the “essentials of hybrid course design, development, and facilitation.” According to the course description, educators would be able to “design and build a course that can be delivered in-person or online; leverage technology for active and mastery-based learning; and maintain the values of your school community during hybrid learning” by the end of the course.

New administrative faculty also participated in online learning this summer, taking an introductory course in girls’ schools education to learn more about teaching and working at a single-gender institution.
