On Saturday, several students on the Interscholastic Equestrian Association traveled to Bridgewater College in Staunton, VA to compete in a competition. The competition was tough, with eleven teams competing over the day.

Riders competed in classes throughout the day, with excellent showings in each. Shannon Huth '17 had a strong over fences round and pinned 5th. In the Intermediate Division, Lily Porter '18 finished 4th on the Flat before the jumping portion of the Intermediate where Chandler Runnells '18 pinned 1st in her section and Porter finished 2nd. Representing Novice, Caroline Hawthorne '18 was 5th over fences and 4th on the flat. In the WTC Division, three riders represented Chatham Hall: Saffron Sharifi '18, Marjory Lewis '18, and Isabella Hubbard '18. Sharifi had a great Walk/Trot warm up round with a 3rd place finish but a bigger class and a difficult horse left her without a ribbon in the Walk-Trot-Canter section. Lewis finished 3rd and Hubbard finished 1st in the final class of the day. The team finished 3rd out of 11 teams for the day.

Chatham Hall has gained the twenty points necessary to qualify for the Regional Finals held on campus in February. Individual riders that have qualified so far include Isabella Hubbard '18 in the Junior Varsity Beginner Walk-Trot-Canter Division. The next horse show will be at Triton Stables in Raleigh, NC on December 18th before the holiday break.
