In alternating years, Chatham Hall’s offers its signature service learning trips to India and South Africa.

For over a decade these purposeful service opportunities have offered Chatham Hall girls the opportunity to cultivate global citizenship by directly engaging with people and places from around the globe.
From March 17-30, 2019, Chatham Hall students and faculty will travel to India’s Golden Triangle to collaborate with local teachers, prepare and serve meals, and work and play alongside student peers in a variety of community settings.

Our signature partnership will take place at Pardada Pardadi Educational Society, an innovative vocational academy that has transformed the lives of thousands of girls and their families in rural Uttar Pradesh state.  Visit to review video, photos, and text of Pardada’s wonderful mission.

At Pardada, we will...

  • Shadow our peers in class.
  • Serve as classroom aides in the primary grades.
  • Assist the girls’ families in their homes and on their farms and visit a very special local women’s cooperative.
  • Observe a sacred puja ceremony on the Ganges River.
  • Hands-on community service to support the school's programming.
  • Engage cross-culturally over meals, dances, and a friendly soccer match.
