With a nearly 125 year legacy, Chatham Hall women and their families continue a tradition of generous and loyal philanthropic support to benefit the girls of today.
This legacy of support began at the turn of the century, when facing significant financial challenges, Orlando Pruden and Chiswell Dabney sought private donations to ensure the on-going operation of the school. With contributions from prominent Virginia families and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, the school continued to serve to educate girls. Later, Dr.Edmund Lee encouraged alumnae to maintain their “loyalty and devotion to Chatham Hall.” We thank our donors who carry out this tradition each year.
