Our Vision

Since 1894, Chatham Hall has exemplified excellence in preparing young women for the futures of their own creation. Focused on this core mission, we will build a more sustainable, more global, and stronger Chatham Hall in the next five years. In the process, we will advance our shared vision of empowering girls to better the world.

A beloved alumna once noted, “The world needs more Chatham Hall girls.” So, it is no accident that our strategic plan carries this forward. Empowering Girls to  Better the World is our strategic plan that writes the next chapter in our history. Over the past several months, we have worked diligently to define our future. Using the best and brightest minds connected to our school, coupled with good research, we developed a dynamic and didactic roadmap for the future.
An all girls boarding and day school in Southern Virginia, Chatham Hall prepares girls for college and for productive lives. Our innovative academic program offers Advanced Placement courses, global study and travel, as well as project based learning. Our athletic teams regularly compete at the State level and our exceptional riding program is nationally recognized. We foster the intellect and character of each student and, through our Honor Code, live in a community of trust. Grounded in its Episcopal heritage, the school welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds.
